Relias Training Login and Course Completion: Every Common Problem Fixed

June 16, 2026June 15, 2026 by ejobscircular

Most people who search for Relias training help are not looking for a tour of the platform — they are stuck. The video will not load. The course will not mark as complete. The login page gives an error. Or they finished a training but their manager says it is not showing up in the system. This article starts with those problems, solves them, and then explains how the Relias platform actually works for people who are using it for the first time.

The Problems That Bring Most People Here

Problem 1: Course Video Will Not Load or Freezes Mid-Way

This is the most common Relias complaint. The video starts, plays for 30 seconds, then freezes or buffers indefinitely. In some cases the video never loads at all — just a blank white area where the player should be.

Why this happens: Relias uses a video streaming system that requires a stable connection, a modern browser, and in older versions of the platform, Flash Player (now defunct). Most video load failures come down to one of three things: browser compatibility, browser extensions blocking the content, or a weak internet connection.

What to do: Switch to Google Chrome if you are using any other browser — Chrome is Relias’s officially recommended browser and most video issues are resolved by switching to it. Clear Chrome’s cache (press Ctrl+Shift+Delete, select “Cached images and files,” and click “Clear data”). Disable any ad blockers or privacy extensions while on the Relias site, as these often block video content. If you are on a work or hospital network, some firewalls block streaming video by default — try from a personal device on a home connection to determine if the network is the issue.

Problem 2: Course Is Not Marking as Complete After Finishing

You finish a course, reach what looks like the last screen, but the course still shows “In Progress” in your transcript. Or you passed the final quiz but the course shows incomplete on your manager’s dashboard.

Why this happens: Relias tracks completion through a combination of time-on-screen, video progress, and quiz results depending on how the course is built. If any one of these tracking signals fails to send — because of a network interruption, a browser crash, or skipping through content — the system may not register completion even if you saw all the material.

What to do: Do not close the browser tab immediately after the last quiz or final screen. Wait for the completion screen to fully load and display a confirmation message. If you see a “Course Complete” message or a certificate screen, take a screenshot before closing. If the course still shows as incomplete in your transcript after 24 hours, contact your organization’s Relias administrator (not Relias support — this is an internal issue). Your admin can manually mark the course as complete in the backend if you can demonstrate you completed the content.

Problem 3: Login Not Working

The Relias login page accepts credentials but then shows an error, or clicking “Sign In” does nothing at all.

Why this happens: Relias uses a subdomain login structure. Each organization has its own login URL, formatted as yourorganization.relias.com. If you go to the wrong subdomain — or if you bookmark the generic Relias homepage — you may be trying to log in with valid credentials on a subdomain that does not recognize your account.

What to do: Ask your manager or HR department for the exact login URL for your organization. Do not search for “Relias login” and use whatever comes up — use the specific URL provided by your employer. If you have forgotten your password, use the “Forgot Password” link on your organization’s Relias subdomain, not the generic Relias homepage. The reset email will come from [email protected] — add this to your safe senders list if you do not receive it within 10 minutes.

Problem 4: Assigned Trainings Not Appearing in Your Transcript

Your manager says you have outstanding trainings due, but when you log in, your transcript is empty or does not show the courses you are supposed to complete.

Why this happens: Course assignments in Relias are tied to your job role, department, and location as set up in the system by your organization’s administrator. If your account was recently created, or if your role was changed, the system may not have assigned the courses yet. There can also be a synchronization delay of up to 24 hours between when an admin assigns courses and when they appear in your account.

What to do: Log out, clear your browser cache, and log back in — sometimes the transcript view is cached. If the courses still do not appear after 24 hours, contact your Relias administrator or HR department. They can check whether your account profile (job role, department, location) is set up correctly and manually trigger assignment of the required courses.

Problem 5: Certificate or Continuing Education Credit Not Generating

You completed a course that carries CEU credits, but no certificate appears in your transcript and no credit has been applied to your professional license record.

Why this happens: Certificate generation and CE credit reporting are two separate processes. Certificates are generated automatically in Relias upon course completion — if one does not appear, the course is likely still showing as incomplete on the backend (see Problem 2 above). CE credit reporting to licensing bodies happens on a separate schedule set by your organization and may take days or weeks after completion.

What to do: Go to your Relias transcript, click on the completed course, and look for a “Download Certificate” button. If it is not there, the course has not fully registered as complete — follow the steps in Problem 2 above. If the certificate is available but your CE credits have not been reported to your licensing board, contact your Relias administrator. CE reporting is controlled at the organizational level and Relias support cannot override it.

How Relias Training Actually Works — For New Users

Relias Learning is a cloud-based learning management system (LMS) used primarily by healthcare, behavioral health, and human services organizations for staff training and compliance. If your employer uses Relias, it means all of your mandatory training, continuing education, and compliance tracking happens through this platform.

Your experience with Relias depends almost entirely on how your organization has configured it. The platform itself supports thousands of prebuilt courses covering topics like HIPAA, infection control, CPR certification, abuse prevention, behavioral health interventions, and clinical skills. Your organization has selected which of these courses to assign to different staff roles, and those assignments show up in your personal transcript when you log in.

How to Log In for the First Time

  1. Get the login URL from your employer — it will look like yourcompanyname.relias.com.
  2. On your first login, click “Forgot Password” (unless you were given a temporary password by HR).
  3. Enter the email address your employer has on file for you.
  4. Check your inbox for a reset email from [email protected].
  5. Click the link in the email and create your password.
  6. Log in. Your assigned courses will appear in your transcript or on your dashboard under “My Learning.”

Understanding Your Transcript

The transcript is the master record of your training activity. It shows every course you have been assigned, its status (Not Started, In Progress, Completed, Past Due), your score if applicable, and the date you completed it. Your compliance status — whether you are up to date with all required training — is calculated from your transcript. If a course is marked Past Due, it means the deadline set by your organization has passed without completion. Contact your manager to discuss whether an extension is possible.

How Relias Tracks Whether You Actually Watched the Training

This is something many users try to work around and it almost always backfires. Relias uses SCORM or AICC tracking standards, which means the course communicates back to the LMS at defined intervals. It records how far into the video you have watched, whether you skipped ahead, how long you spent on each screen, and your quiz scores. The system can detect if you left the tab open but were not actually watching — it measures active engagement time, not just elapsed time.

If you try to fast-forward through a video-based course, many modules will stop you — the “Next” button does not activate until the video has fully played. Quiz-based courses require you to pass the assessment. Some courses require a minimum score (often 75% or 80%) and allow you two or three attempts before locking you out, at which point your administrator needs to reset your attempt count.

Mobile App and Offline Access

Relias offers a mobile app available for iOS and Android. The app works well for most course types but has limitations: video-heavy modules may not play smoothly on slower mobile connections, and some legacy courses built in Flash do not work on mobile at all. There is limited offline functionality — you can download some content to watch offline, but quiz completion and tracking still requires an internet connection to sync.

For compliance-critical training where you need to be sure your completion is recorded, use a desktop or laptop computer with Chrome rather than the mobile app. For additional help, the Relias support portal has a searchable knowledge base for technical issues.

Why does Relias say I failed a course when I passed the quiz?

Relias tracks both time-on-task and quiz performance for most courses. If you passed the quiz but skipped through the video or spent less than the required minimum time on the course content, the system may mark it as failed or incomplete regardless of your quiz score. Retake the course and watch the full video without fast-forwarding.

Can my manager see my Relias quiz scores and how long I spent on each course?

Yes. Relias administrators and managers with appropriate permissions can see detailed activity reports including quiz attempts, scores, time spent per course, and completion dates. This information is part of your organization’s compliance records.

What should I do if Relias says my account does not exist?

This usually means the email address you are entering does not match the one your employer used to register your account. Try alternate email addresses you might have provided at the time of hire. Contact your HR department to confirm which email is on file in the Relias system.

How do I contact Relias support directly?

Relias customer support is available at support.reliaslearning.com. However, most account issues — course assignments, completion records, administrator resets — can only be resolved by your organization’s internal Relias administrator, not by Relias support directly. Always contact your internal admin or HR department first.

Why does Relias show a blank white screen when I try to start a course?

A blank white screen when launching a course almost always means a browser compatibility issue. Switch to Google Chrome, disable all browser extensions, clear your cache, and try again. If the problem persists on Chrome, check whether your organization’s IT department has any content filtering or firewall rules that might be blocking the Relias video content delivery network.

How long do I have to complete assigned Relias trainings?

Completion deadlines are set by your organization, not by Relias. Log in and check your transcript — each assigned course will show a due date if one has been set. If no due date is shown, ask your manager when the training needs to be completed.
